Narrator James Earl Jones has been an actor for over 70 years. He had a stutter during his youth, which was minimized with the help of acting and poetry. Now, Jones serves as an inspiration to aspiring actors with speech impediments. Before acting, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jones has acted in the theater, films, and television. His fame rose when he voiced Darth Vader in “Star Wars,” and since then has been cast in many entertainment industries and won multiple prestigious awards.

Evelyn Coleman is an award-winning author, with her work containing children’s stories, essays, short stories, and adult novels. She is famous for writing American Girl books and many stories illustrating culture. Coleman is an Edgar Award finalist.

Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson was an American illustrator known for representing Black history through her work. She won multiple awards for her work, including the 1984 Ohio Governor’s Award for the Visual Arts and the 2004 MacArthur Genius Grant for folk artists. Now, her work is displayed throughout book illustrations and museums across America. Robinson passed away on May 22, 2015.
