Reading Aloud to Middle Schoolers

Hey, Teach! Getting students excited about reading can feel like an exhausting challenge.  When you add the online component, where things feel more disconnected, it can be even harder. Christopher Younggren explores the benefit of reading out loud to students in middle school. Younggren starts by describing the problems with common reading practices for middle schoolers.  He then dives into the benefits of reading out loud, such as increased reading comprehension, learning new words (pronunciation and meaning),  and lesson planning.  In the next video, he gives tips to help you as a teacher be a more engaging, dynamic, and unforgettable reader and speaker.
