Queen Elizabeth I

Queen Elizabeth I (1533 – 1603) was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn (his second wife). She would become Queen of England after 2 of her half-siblings died while on the throne.

Under her leadership, the country enjoyed great prosperity. Also during this time, Colonies across the ocean in America were beginning to flourish. The arts and theater were thriving, as this was the period William Shakesphere would begin his legendary career.

It wasn’t always easy for Elizabeth, however. Watch this video to see how she also became a great military leader despite being a woman.
